Baltimore, MD -- The Loyola Greyhounds volleyball team hosted the Bucknell Bisons for their home opener on Friday night. The Greyhounds would defeat the Bisons 2-1 (25-19, 25-18, 19-25, 26-24).

The Greyhounds took an early 1-0 (25-19) lead, in large part due to Lauren Link who had 6 kills in the first set, as the Greyhounds also hit .351 in the first set. 

In the second set, the Greyhounds jumped out to an early 6-1 lead. They Greyhounds would keep their momentum going throughout the set as they would win the second set 25-18. The Greyhounds continued their good hitting night as they hit .314 in the second set. 

The Greyhounds once again jumped out to a 6-1 lead to start the third set. The Bison however, managed to battle back and worked their way to their first lead in the match as they took an 14-13 lead halfway through the third set. The Bison would manage to hold onto the lead the remainder of the set as they won the third set 25-19. 

In the fourth set, Bucknell continued their momentum from the third set, as they took an early lead in the fourth set. They held their small lead as they led 15-12 at the media timeout. The Greyhounds would rally back as a kill from Megan Bukala tied it up at 20-20 in the fourth set. Bucknell would then take a 23-20 lead, but the Greyhounds once again rallied, as they battled back to win the fourth set 26-24, to win the match 3-1. 

Lauren Link led the Greyhounds with 14 kills, as Cecylia Guye added 13 kills on the night. Ashley Dwyer had 39 assits on the night, as Katie Forsythe added 22 digs.
