SPARKS, Md. – A pair of fifth-year players for Loyola University Maryland men's lacrosse were honored on Tuesday by USA Lacrosse Magazine on its Preseason All-America teams as Payton Rezanka earned First Team recognition as a short-stick defensive midfielder, and Cam Wyers was honorable mention as a defender.
 
Rezanka, who recently competed throughout the fall in the U.S. Men's National Team Training Camp, has continued the excellence of Loyola's short-stick defensive midfielders throughout the years. Last year, he was named to the USILA All-America Third Team and was a First Team All-Patriot League honoree, as well.
 
He racked up a team-high 27 caused turnovers, the most by a short-stick nationally last season, while also picking up 31 ground balls.
 
He added three goals while helping Loyola rank sixth nationally in clearing percentage at 90.4 percent. His caused turnover, ground ball and goal totals all represented career-highs.
 
Wyers has been a four-year starter at close defense for the Greyhounds and will again anchor the unit for Loyola. He was a Third-Team USILA All-American in 2021 and honorable mention recipient last year after finishing with 16 caused turnovers and 33 ground balls on the defensive unit for the Greyhounds.
