BALTIMORE – Three Loyola University Maryland lacrosse student-athletes were named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch Lists this week with women's lacrosse players

Jillian Wilson and men's lacrosse's
Payton Rezanka garnering the recognition.
Rezanka and the men's team will kick off the 2023 season Saturday afternoon when they host the University of Maryland at 1 p.m. at Ridley Athletic Complex. Detwiler, Wilson and the women's team will get their 2023 campaign underway Saturday, February 18 with a 3 p.m. game against Johns Hopkins University at Ridley.
Detwiler returns to the Greyhounds for her fifth season with the team in 2023 and has been a crucial part of the Greyhounds defense, having started 63 games over her career. She has gained national recognition throughout her career as a two-time IWLCA All-American ('22 First Team, '21 Second Team), Tewaaraton Award Top-25 Semifinalist and three-time
ILWomen All-American. Detwiler is a two-time Defensive Player of the Year in the Patriot League and a two-time First Team All-Patriot League honoree while being named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week 11 times.
Wilson is back with the Greyhounds for her fifth season with the team in 2023 and is coming off of an career season in which she tallied 48 goals and 13 assists during 2022. Wilson's great year did not go unnoticed as she was named Patriot League Midfielder of the Year, earned spots on the
USA Lacrosse Magazine and IWLCA All-America second teams, and she was a member of the Tewaaraton Award Watch List. Wilson is also a two-time All-Patriot League First Team selection who has started in all 42 games she has played since her sophomore season.
Rezanka racked up a team-high 27 caused turnovers last year, the most by a short-stick nationally, while also picking up 31 ground balls. He added three goals while helping Loyola rank sixth nationally in clearing percentage at 90.4 percent. His caused turnover, ground ball and goal totals all represented career-highs. The San Diego native was named to the USILA All-America Third Team and the All-Patriot League First Team.
