ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Loyola University Maryland's 4x800-meter relay team rose from fifth to third over the final 800 meters on Saturday, and the Greyhounds took the bronze in the event on the first day of the Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships at the U.S. Naval Academy.

Abby Potticary and
Olivia Malley ran a time of 9:13.20, the eighth fastest in school history. Malley covered the last leg of the race in 2:16.10 to move the Greyhounds past teams from Boston University and Bucknell.
The relay was the lone point-scoring for Loyola on the day, and the Greyhounds are eighth with six points.
Malley was one of two Loyola runners to qualify for a total of three Sunday finals with preliminary racing on Saturday.
The senior ran a personal-best time of 2:12.71 in the 800 meters, the No. 10 time in school indoor history to make her the third-fastest woman to run the event at Loyola. Her time was good for sixth on Saturday and advanced her to Sunday's final.
She will be joined by
Jamie Adams in Sunday's finals after the freshman qualified in both the 60 and 200 meters.
Adams first raced to a time of 7.71 seconds in the 60, tying for the third-fastest race in school history. She then clocked 24.64 seconds in the 200 meters, also the third-best in that event. Adams will go into Sunday's final seeded fifth in both events.
Ava Dunn took 21
st in the 200 meters (27.47), while Madelyn Richard (8.14) and
Jessica Boos (8.55) were 21
st and 22
nd, respectively, in the 60.
Ajia Morrison finished 18
th in 400-meter qualifying in 59.16, and
Taylor McHugh was 20
th in 60.35.
Lauren Riddle took 17
th in mile qualifying with a time of 5:19.47.
