PHOENIX, Md. –
Mike Crowley and
Gustavo Rangel are tied for fifth individually after 36 holes and leading the Loyola University Maryland golf team at the Patriot League Championships at Hillendale Country Club.
Crowley churned out 16 pars and had birdies on the second and 17
th holes to finish at 2-under 70 on Saturday.
Rangel was a stroke back on Saturday, shooting a 1-under 71 with three birdies over his last six holes to match Crowley at 5-over through two rounds.
As a team, the Greyhounds shot the day's third-best round at 2-over 290 to move up to fourth place going into Sunday's final round at 33-over. Colgate leads the team race at 21-over; the Raiders are followed by Lehigh (22-over), Holy Cross (31-over) and the Greyhounds.
James Rico shot 2-over 74 on Saturday, and he is tied for 37
th overall.
Matt Malits shot 3-over on Saturday and is tied for 21
st.
Lorenzo Sanz shot 4-over and is tied for 35
th along with
Carlo Pizzano who shot 7-over Saturday.
With rain and storms possible on Sunday, the teams will go off in a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
