PHILADELPHIA – Three Loyola University Maryland boats reached their respective finals on Saturday at the 40
th-Annual Murphy Cup on the Schuylkill River.
The men's varsity eight –
Eoin McDonough,
David Schechter,
Joseph Arvelo,
Frederich Lightner,
Tobias Ensor,
Joshua Rafferty,
Julius Boucke,
Aidan Towey and coxswain Joseph Sigmund – took sixth in its fnal with a time of 6:12.28 after finishing third of four boats in its heat, crossing the finish line in 6:02.12.
Loyola's second varsity eight on the men's side –

Chris Engelbert,
Chris Mueller,
Matthew Smith,
Guillermo Diaz,
Ben Sala and coxswain
Kat An – were sixth in the final in 6:47.18 after rowing 6:34.21 in the heats.
On the women's side, the Greyhounds' novice four –
Cassidy Garcia,
Emily Pedersen,
Valentina Masi,
Anna Schiller and coxswain
Izabella Schafer – finished fifth in the final in 9:05.78 with a heat time of 8:45.34 to finish third out of five.
The women's varsity eight –

Delaney Gibbons – took fourth out of six in the petite final in 6:59.77, improving its time from 7:04.77 in the heats.

Jack Quinones and An – was fifth in its heat with a time of 8:02.36.
And, the women's varsity four –

Callista Van Syckel – was fifth, as well, in 8:47.86.
