BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A pair of Loyola University Maryland outdoor track and field team members, Olivia Malley and Ajia Morrison, were named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team on Thursday, honoring their excellence on the field and in the classroom.
 
Malley finished second in the 800 meters at the 2023 Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championships and earned All-Patriot League Second Team for the Greyhounds.
 
Her time of 2:09.75 ranked her as the third-best performer in school history, and she was also a part of the Greyhounds' 4x400-meter relay team that took seventh. During the regular season, she had the team's top overall times in the 400 and 800 meters.
 
Malley was also named to the Academic All-Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships. She is a Dean's List honoree at Loyola and has been on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll throughout her four years at Loyola. She is graduating this week with a bachelor's degree in global studies and a minor in political science.
 
Morrison competed in the 4x400- and 4x800-meter relays that were both seventh at the Patriot League Championships. She ran a personal-best in the 800 meters at the Lehigh University Covert Classic, and she also took third in the 400 meters with a personal-best time at the Johns Hopkins-Loyola Invitational during the season.
 
She has been on the Dean's List at Loyola and also has been on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll since coming to the school prior to last season.
