BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland's women's lacrosse team learned Sunday night it earned a the No. 8 seed in the 2023 NCAA Championships and will host three games next weekend at RIdley Athletic Complex.
The Greyhounds will host Fairfield University in the first round on Friday, May 12. Stony Brook University and Penn State University will meet in the other first-round game. Game time and ticket information will be announced soon.

Jen Adams. "There are so many incredible programs represented in the field and we are excited for the chance to continue our season together as a team and put together our best lacrosse here in May."
Loyola enters the Championships with a 17-2 overall record and its winners of their last 12 games. The Greyhounds went 6-2 against ranked teams this season.
This will be the programs 24th NCAA appearance, the 10th under Head Coach
Jen Adams and fifth in a row (not including the non-contested 2020 Championships). Last year, Loyola hosted and beat Mount St. Mary's in the first round, James Madison in the second. The Greyhounds then lost on the road at Boston College in the quarterfinals.
Fairfield won the 2023 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title and enter the tournament with 14-4 overall record. Stony Brook won its first Colonial Athletic Association crown and is 14-3, while Penn State comes in as an at-large selection out of the Big Ten. The Nittany Lions, whom the Greyhounds defeated 11-7 in early March, are 11-6 this year.
