NORMAN, Okla. – Two Loyola University Maryland golfers,
Mike Crowley and
Carlo Pizzano, earned All-America Scholars from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) this week, recognizing their work on the course and in the classroom.

As a team, the Greyhounds were recognized with the GCAA Outstanding Team Academic Award, as well, for overall team performance.

Crowley finished second in the Patriot League Championships in 2023, earning All-Patriot League First Team honors. He was later named to the Academic All-Patriot League team. Crowley garnered a slot, too, on the PING All-Northeast Region Team and this summer, he won the BMW Philadelphia Amateur Championship.

He concluded the 2022-23 campaign in scoring average (73.73), scoring average to par (+2.09) and par adjusted to courses played (+1.38). All three averages led his peers in the conference. He finished the year with the highestÂ
Golfweek/Sagarin ranking in the Patriot League by more than 250 spots.

Pizzano, who graduated with bachelor's degree in mechanical and materials engineering in May and will return to pursues a master's degree in 2023-4, played in 11 tournaments last season for Loyola, compiling a 74.77 per round average, 3.07 to par and 2.23 adjusted to courses played.

He had a pair of top-20 finished during the 2022-23 season with his best coming at the Ross Collegiate Classic in North Carolina where he took 11
th. This summer, he tied for fifth at the Maryland Open with a three-round total of 8-under.
