BALTIMORE – The Loyola men's and women's tennis teams split decisions with Chestnut Hill College on Sunday as the women's side won, 7-0, and the men lost, 4-3.
Christine Richiez and
Lauren Manwiller got doubles started with a 6-4 win at No. 1 over Alli Isaac and Lilly Bandel, and
Emi Shivkumar and
Jocelyn Assael added a 6-0 sweep of Romi Meirovich and Anisha Reddy at No. 3.
The Greyhounds then went on to sweep all six singles matches.
Olivia Tracey beat Isaac, 6-2, 7-5, at No. 1, and Richiez was a 6-1, 6-1 winner over Meirovich at No. 2.
Liza Tankimovich topped Haag, 7-5, 6-4, at No. 3, and
Anna Rico knocked off Elena Arenas Guisasola, 7-5, 4-0, at No. 4.
Lily Langhus came back to beat Bandel, 6-1, 4-6, 10-7, at No. 5, and
Sabrina Grewal was a 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7) winner over Claudia Rasilla at No. 6.
On the men's side, Loyola also won the doubles point with
Nick Haggar and
Oliver Davey taking down Noah Cutting and Antonio Franquis, 7-6 (5), at No. 1, and
Nick Lawliss and
George Cavo beating Sid Malik and Marcello Bozzone, 7-6 (4) at No. 2.
Davey scored a 6-1, 6-1 win over Arnaud Vangenechten, at No. 2 singles, and Lawliss dispatched Filipo Relecom, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 2. Chestnut Hill, however, won the other four singles matches.
Cutting got past
Matt Cardano, 7-6 (4), 6-2, at No. 1, and Franquis was a 6-3, 6-3 winner against Hggar. Tiago Lima defeated
Ryan Boland, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5, and Joao Sousa beat
Dylan Koziol, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 6.
