Golf, Crowley Finish T-2 In First Spring Tournament

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Mike Crowley shot a collegiate-best 12-under par to finish tied for second as an individual, and the Loyola University Maryland golf team finished tied for second as a group as the Greyhounds wrapped up competition at the 2024 Loyola Intercollegiate at Palm Valley Golf Club.
 
Crowley was buoyed by an opening round 7-under 65 and finished with a 2-under 70 on Tuesday.
 
The Greyhounds completed the three-round tournament at 25-under 839 for the second-best 54-hole score to par in program history. Crowley's 12-under is tied for fourth to par in school history and is the second-best this season by a Loyola player following Jackson Roman's 13-under in October at the Monterrey Collegiate Classic.
 
Roman and James Rico tied for 26th overall at the Loyola Intercollegiate with matching 3-under par scores. Rico had birdies on two of his final eight holes Tuesday to get to the 3-under mark.
 
Carlo Pizzao was a shot back of those two players, carding a 54-hole total of 2-under. Pizzano shot 2-under on Tuesday and tied for 33rd overall.
 
Turner Foster had his best round of the tournament, building on an eagle three on the second hole, finishing at even par Tuesday to tie for 106th at 11-over.
 
Garrett Kessler was the second Greyhounds player in the individual rankings. He shot 1-under 71 on Tuesday and finished tied for 20th while playing as an individually with a score of 4-under through 54 holes.
 
North Dakota State won the tournament at 40-under par, and the Bison's Jake Skarperud took medalist honors at 14-under.
