UPPER SAUCON TOWNSHIP, Pa. –
Carlo Pizzano hit a 4-iron from the left rough to within 20 feet on the 18
th hole of the Saucon Valley Country Club Grace Course where he chipped to within two feet and one-putted to win the 2024 Patriot League Men's Golf Individual Championship on Sunday, leading the Greyhounds to their sixth team crown in 10 years.
The Greyhounds earned a spot in the NCAA Regionals for the 12
th time in school history with the victory. They will learn their destination for NCAA play on Wednesday, May 1, at 2 p.m. during the NCAA Selection Show on the Golf Channel.
Pizzano shot two-over 218 during the 54-hole tournament to win the individual title. He also tied for first at the 2022 Championships but lost in a playoff. He held off teammate Jams Rico and the U.S. Naval Academy's Jack Tarzy who tied for second at 3-over.
Loyola won by 13 strokes as a team, shooting 17-over 881 for the three rounds. Colgate (894), Navy (896), Lehigh (897), Lafayette (905), Bucknell (905) and Army West Point (910) rounded out the field.
The Greyhounds' title was their 23
rd conference championship since 1990 with the first 17 coming as a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

Chris Baloga was named the Patriot Leauge Coach of the Year for the fifth time. Pizzano earned the conference's Player of the Year award, the third time a Loyola player has been so honored. He joins Matt Oshrine (2015) and Brandon Berry (2021) as Patriot League medalists.
Pizzano had a two-shot lead going into the final hole, but he found tree trouble on the left side of the fairway. He hit a low 4-iron that ran up to finish just short of the green where he chipped and putted for the win.
He opened the day as the tournament leader after shooting a 1-under 71 on Saturday for the day's best round. He bogeyed the second hole, but he eagled the 542-yard, par-5 fourth to get to 1-under for the day.
Pizzano put together four-straight pars after that and then made the turn with a birdie on the ninth hole. He stayed at two-under for the day and led by as many as five, but his lead dwindled to one by the end of the day.
Rico started the day with a double bogey and bogey among his first three holes, but he then had 11 pars in a row. A birdie on the par-5 15
th hold got him to 2-over for Sunday where he finished.
Gustavo Rangel shot 3-under 33 on the back nine to get to 1-under 71 on Sunday and finish in a tie for 13
th overall. He had three birdies on the final nine holes including sinking a 30-foot uphill putt on the 17
th.
Mike Crowley had three birdies on the back nine, as well, and finished at 2-over 74 on Sunday to tie for 17
th overall.
Jackson Roman tied for 24
th individually, and Turner Forster tied for 30
th to round out the Greyhounds scoring.
