BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland men's tennis won the doubles point after a tiebreaker victory by
Nick Haggar and
Oliver Davey, but Bucknell Univeristy came back to win all six singles matches to take a 6-1 Patriot League decision on Saturday afternoon at the McClure Tennis Center.
Haggar and Davey went to a tiebreaker to beat Adam Stavrakas and Oscar Bain Moreno de Vega, 7-6 (4) and win the No. 1 doubles match.
Matt Cardano and
Cristian Pemueller setup the opportunity for Loyola to win the doubles point with a 6-2 win at No. 3 over Will Robinson and Zelikovsky. Amar Tahirovic and Liam Kilmer won, 6-1, at
Nick Lawliss and
George Cavo.
Tahirovic beat Cardano, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 1 singles, and Starvakas topped Haggar, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 2. Bain Moreno de Vega topped Davey, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 3, and Kilmer was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over Lawliss at No. 4.
Zelikovsky beat Cavo, 6-2, 6-2, in the No. 5 match, and Ethan Escalmado was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at No. 6.
