BATON ROUGE, La. – Loyola University Maryland golf is in 12
th-place as a team after the first 18 holes of the 2024 NCAA Regional Championship at The University Club, hosted by LSU.
James Rico led the Greyhounds with a 4-over 76 on the 7,401-yard, par-72 course. He is tied for 44
th individually.
The Greyhounds shot a cumulative 22-over par and are 10 strokes up on Ivy League champion Yale and 11 on Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Loyola is nine back of Louisville for 11
th.
Mike Crowley is a shot back of Rico in a tie for 54
th after shooting 5-over 77, while
Carlo Pizzano and
Jackson Roman are tied for 57
th and 61
st, respectively, after shooting 6- and 7-over par.
Gustavo Rangel rounded out the Greyhounds scoring a 8-over 80.
Loyola will start the second round at 9:25 a.m. on the course's back nine and play with competitors from host LSU and Louisville.
