Baltimore – USA Lacrosse announced their All-American teams on Thursday morning, as five players received All-American honors.
Chase Boyle (First Team),
Sydni Black (Honorable Mention),
Georgia Latch (Honorable Mention),
Lily Osborne (Honorable Mention), and
Lauren Spence (Honorable Mention) all received nods.
Boyle, a junior from Rumson, New Jersey, earns her first All-American nod of her career, as she was named to the First Team. She was named as a Tewaaraton top-25 semifinalist, as she leads Division I lead in goals (80). The 80 goals are also a new program record for goals in a single-season, a record she broke in the regular season finale against Bucknell. On top of her dominance on the offensive side of the field, Boyle is a true two-way midfielder, as she is third in the country in draw controls per game (10.11), and has been big on the defensive end of the field, drawing a matchup in 18 of 19 games this season.
Black, a senior from Cincinnati, Ohio, was named Honorable Mention All-American. Black was named as a Tewaaraton top-25 semifinalist, and was named Patriot League Tournament MVP. She is tied for third in goals (73) and ranks second in points (101) as she is one of two players with 10 points entering the NCAA Tournament. She ended the season on a 55-game goal streak, while she has scored a hat trick in 15 of 19 games this season.
Osborne, a junior defender from Oxford, Maryland, earns her first All-American nod of her career, following a standout season where she was named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year. Osborne leads the team with 25 caused turnovers and is second with 25 ground balls, as Loyola leads ranks fifth in the country in goals against average, allowing just 8.16.
Latch, a junior from Melbourne, Austrailia, earned another All-American nod, as she ranks tied for sixth in Division I in points (96) this season. Latch scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Navy in the Patriot League Championship game in overtime. She has scored at least three points in all but two games this season, as she has 13 hat tricks and 11 multi-assist games this season.
Spence, a junior from Evergreen, Colorado earns her second USA Lacrosse All-American nod, as she was named to the Honorable Mention team. She started all 19 games in goal this season, tallying 118 saves, a .474 save percentage, and a 8.28 goals against average on the season. Spence leads the team in ground balls with 38, while also tallying four caused turnovers this season.
The Greyhounds will open the NCAA Tournament with a matchup against Duke in the first round. Opening draw is at 4:00 PM on Friday in Philadelphia.
