BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A pair of Loyola University Maryland men's lacrosse captains were named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team on Wednesday representing the Greyhounds' offensive and defensive units.
Matthew Minicus earned a nod on the Preseason All-League attack, while
Remi Reynolds was named to the defensive unit. Both earned All-Patriot League Second Team recognition a year ago.
Minicus comes into his junior season as the team's active leader in goals and assists, totaling 61 goals and 31 assists for 92 points in 30 games over his first two seasons. He scored 28 times and had 15 goals as a sophomore in 2024 after putting up 33 and 16 in 2023. The native of Darien, Connecticut, had five hat tricks and eight multi-goal games as a sophomore.
Reynolds became a starter in his first year with the Greyhounds as a junior in 2024 after transferring from Rutgers. He started all 15 games on close defense and led the caused turnovers with 17 while picking up a close defense-high 32 ground balls.
The Greyhounds will open the season on Saturday, February 1, with a 12 noon game at Georgetown before playing back-to-back home games the following two weekends against Maryland and Johns Hopkins.
