Therien Named to Preseason All-Patriot League Team

Bethlehem, PA -- Loyola University Maryland fifth year forward Lex Therien was named to the Preseason All-Patriot League team on Thursday by a vote of conference coaches.

This will be Therien's fourth time being named to the Preseason All-Patriot League, as she has been named to it in each of the last four seasons.

Therien was named the Preseason Player of the Year in 2024-25, but was limited to just three games due to injury, as she averaged 13.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game over the three games. Therien became the fifth Greyhound to eclipse 1,000 career rebounds last season, as she is also the fifth player in program history to eclipse both 1,000 career points and rebounds.

During the 2023-24 season, Therien averaged 15.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.2 steals during the season, starting in all 31 games, as she was named to the First Team All-Patriot League team. Therien led the Patriot League in rebounds per game and field goal percentage (55.4%) during the season, as she helped lead the Greyhounds to a 10-8 Patriot League record and the No. 4 seed in the Patriot League Championships.

Loyola was picked to finish in third place in the Preseason Poll, selected by the Patriot League Head Coaches. Loyola earned 63 points in the poll, including three first place votes, earning the second most first place votes in the poll.

Therien is joined on the Preseason All-Patriot League team by Fiona Hastick (Army West Point), Anne Bair (Colgate), Kaitllyn Flanagan (Holy Cross), and Zanai Barnett-Gay (Navy).

Loyola opens up the 2025-26 season at the University of Maryland on November 3 and will host La Salle on November 6 for their home opener at Reitz Arena. Fans can visit this link to purchase season tickets to Greyhounds home games.
