- Loyola played its first Patriot League road matches of the season last weekend, but the Greyhounds fell in three at Lafayette and four at Bucknell.
- Morgan Crawford had a team-high 10 kills and hit .286 in Friday night's match against the Leopards, and Addie Huber logged 20 digs.
- On Saturday at Bucknell, Kacy Sekunda tallied 15 kills, and Ava Nepkin added nine. Huber had 18 digs, and Riley Hamilton added 11.
Freshman Digging The Playing Time
- Addie Huber has been the Greyhounds' primary libero this season and is averaging 4.53 digs per set through 15 matches. She has 20 or more digs in four of the last seven Greyhounds matches and 12 or more in 11 of 12. Overall, she has seven matches this season with 20 or more digs.
- Huber ranks second in the Patriot League in digs (263) and third in digs per set (4.53), and she is 46th and 38th nationally in those categories. Among NCAA Division I freshmen, Huber is seventh in digs per set and total digs.
Digs Staying With The Trend
- Loyola ranks 46th in NCAA Division I in digs per set (15.48) through matches of October 8 continuing a trend from the last several years.
- The Greyhounds have ranked 92nd or higher nationally in the statistical categories in the last seven seasons (2018-24) with five of those seasons finishing in the top 30.
Back For A Graduate Year
- Kacy Sekunda returns to the Greyhounds' lineup for the 2025 season as a graduate student after earning her bachelor's degree in. She missed all but nine matches during her sophomore season (2022) and received a medical hardship waiver to compete this year.
- Sekunda finished fifth in NCAA Division I last season with nine triple doubles, and she had her first of the 2025 season on September 5 against Robert Morris before picking up a second against Georgetown. She posted three in the first three Patriot League matches of the year, bringing her career total to 18. That ranks second-most amongst active NCAA players (Jalyn Stout, Coastal Carolina, 42).
- The setter-right side from Boalsburg, Pennsylvania, who earned All-Patriot League Second Team recognition along with Academic All-Patriot League honors last year, leads the Greyhounds with 3.12 kills per set and a .202 hitting percentage as of October 8.
- Over the course of 346 sets in 95 career matches, Sekunda has 663 kills, 2,172 assists and 902 digs. She ranks eighth in Loyola career history in assists and enters the Lehigh match 227 back of Aubrey Kirvin (2009-10) for seventh.
