ANNAPOLIS, Md. –
Cristian Pemueller and
Ryan Boland won, 6-4, at No. 3 doubles on Satuday for Loyola University Maryland men's tennis, but Hofstra University took the other two doubles matches and won all six singles contests for a 7-0 victory indoors.
Pemueller and Boland downed the Pride's Josh Reynolds and Matthew Garcia, but Hofstra's No. 1 Maxim Michaels and Noa Forste-Dinell were 6-2 winners against
Nick Lawliss and
Noah Castillo, and Vincent Turina and Kaita Odani beat
George Cavo and
Ryan Gill, 6-4, at No. 2.
Lawliss rallied from a 6-2 first-set loss to Reynolds at No. 1 singles, taking the second frame, 6-3, but Reynolds came back to win the super-tiebreaker third, 10-6.
Garcia was a 6-2, 6-0 winner against Castillo at No. 2, and Michaels topped Cavo, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 3.
Eñaut Garcia got past Boland, 6-0, 7-5, at No. 4 singles, and Forste-Dinell beat Gill, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 5. Turina used scores of 6-3, 6-4, for a win over
Blake Edwards at No. 6.
