BALTIMORE – Boston University women's tennis defeated Loyola University Maryland, 7-0, Sunday at the McClure Tennis Center, closing the Greyhounds Patriot League regular-season schedule.
Uma Bakaityte and Gabriella Mikaul earned a 7-5 win for the Terriers at No. 1 doubles over Loyola's
Lauren Manwiller and
Emma Roeck, and Madison Lu teamed with Blanka DeMicheli for a 6-4 victory against
Jessica Bodewes and
Christine Richiez at No. 2. Emily Zhao and Nina Gulbranson executed a 6-2 win against
Emi Shivkumar and
Jocelyn Assael in the No. 3 spot.
Bodewes was the Greyhounds' lone singles player to post a set win when she took Zhao to three before the Boston University player took a 3-6, 7-6 (5), 10-4 decision at No. 5.
Bakaityte topped Richiez, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 1, and Mikaul was a 6-0, 6-3 winner at No. 2 against Manwiller.
Liu got past
Elena Hartley, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 3 singles, and DeMicheli was a 6-3, 7-5 winner at No. 4 against
Mia Matriccino. Gulbransen defeated Shivkumar, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 6.
