PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – Loyola University Maryland rowing reached a grand final and petite final Friday after the first day of racing at the Dad Vail Regatta on the Cooper River.
The Greyhounds' men's varsity four will compete for the Ken Shaw Trophy in the 2V4 grand final on Saturday at 1:50 p.m., and the women's 1V8 will compete in the petite final of its event at 4:46 p.m.
Loyola's men's varsity four took sixth in its morning time trial with a finish of 7:28.994, and the group then dropped more than eight seconds for third in its semifinal in 7:20.206.
The women's 1V8 was eighth in its morning race with a time of 6:49.33, and the Greyhounds acme back for fourth in a semifinal in 7:12.842.
The men's 1V8 took 10
th in a morning time trial, rowing 5:43.904, and the group finished fifth in the semifinal with a time of 5:58.459.
Loyola's 2V8 rowed 7:26.410 for a seventh-place finish in the time trial.
