Men’s Tennis Completes at McClure Invitational

BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland men's tennis wrapped up a competitive weekend at the McClure Invitational, hosted at the McClure Tennis Center, with matchups against Morgan State, Howard, and Mount St. Mary's.

The Greyhounds opened play on Friday with a strong showing against Morgan State, earning victories in both doubles matches and two of three singles contests. Senior Blake Edwards led the way with a comeback win at No. 1 singles, while Louis Moldenhauer added a straight-set victory at No. 2. In doubles, Nick Lawliss and Ryan Gill secured a hard-fought win at the top spot, and Cristian Pemueller teamed with Petter Hagen for a win at No. 2.

Saturday's match against Howard saw Loyola drop both doubles contests and three of four singles matches. Freshman Trevor Girandola provided the highlight of the day, rallying from a set down to win at No. 4 singles.

On Sunday, Loyola faced Mount St. Mary's in the final round of the invitational. Despite setbacks in doubles play, the Greyhounds earned two singles victories. Petter Hagen battled through three sets to win at No. 3 singles, and Ian Perl followed with a three-set triumph at No. 4.
