  • Loyola returns nine players to its roster from a year ago and features three seniors, four juniors, four sophomores and four freshmen.

Series History

  • The Eagles were the first team to sweep the regular-season series since 2019-20 with a pair of wins over Loyola last year. American scored a 73-54 win at the Greyhounds' Reitz Arena on January 13, 2025, before taking a 72-51 decision in Washington, D.C., on February 15, 2025.
  • The teams closed the 2025 calendar year on New Year's Eve with a matinee in Washington, D.C., that the Eagles won, 84-69. American used a 25-14 run over nearly eight minutes in the first half of that game to flip a 10-6 Loyola lead in to a 31-24 advantage.
  • Braeden Speed scored 13 for Loyola, while Jacob Theodosiou and Emmett Adair each had 11.
  • American is 16-11 in 27 meetings since the teams have been members of the Patriot League since Loyola joined the conference in 2013-14.

  • The Bison pulled within a point, 56-55, on a Quinn Berger three with 2:52 on the clock, but Speed hit baseline step-back jumper just 21 ticks of the clock later to make it a three-point Greyhounds' lead.
  • Carter Berg-McLean scored two of his eight with a driving layup on Loyola's next possession, and after an Amon Dörries putback for Bucknell, Speed hit another jumper with 56 seconds left.

  • Bucknell's Aleksander Pachucki made a three with 3:53 to play in the first half, tying the score at 21-21, but a Commander three 20 seconds later kicked off a 10-0 Greyhounds run that helped Loyola take a 31-23 advantage at the half.

He is second on the team with 21 assists in conference games with four coming against Colgate and a to-date career-high seven at Lehigh.
