Loyola University Maryland golf will host the seventh edition of the Hamptons Intercollegiate in East Hampton, New York, on Monday and Tuesday, October 5-6, at Maidstone Club.
The 54-hole tournament will take place on the 6,742-yard course in the winds of the Hamptons for the seventh time featuring another field loaded with top national teams. The Greyhounds will compete against Duke, Florida, Florida State, Georgetown, Harvard, Mississippi, Princeton, Rutgers, Utah, Wake Forest and Yale.
Play commences on Monday morning with the first groups going off at 7:35 a.m. from the No 1 and 10 tees. Teams will play continuously throughout the day for 36 holes before the third round opens Tuesday at 7:35.
Founded in 1891, Maidstone Club is one of the United States' first true links courses. The West Course, which is the home of the Hamptons Intercollegiate, opened in 1924 after Willie Park and his brother, John, and is set on the Gardiner Peninsula through the sand and dunes that front the Atlantic Ocean. The course was then renovated in 2012 by the Coore and Crenshaw team that reintroduced natural sand features throughout the course and enlarged green complexes.
Loyola will play six in the tournament with Zach Berger, Jack Geyer, Liam Moloney, Diego Neira and Eli Spaulding comprising the counting five and Matthew Simpson playing as an individual.
