Biography

2023 (Senior): Named to the All-Patriot League First Team and the Academic All-Patriot League squad… Earned Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse Magazine All-America honors after leading the team with 34 goals and tying for team-high honors with 49 points… Scored at least one point in all 17 games… Third on the team with 15 assists and also had 25 ground balls and seven caused turnovers… Named a USILA Scholar All-American… Started the year with two goals scored in the win over Maryland… Scored three times, including the overtime game-winner at Towson… Had two goals and an assist at Bucknell… Posted three goals and two assists against Holy Cross and had three goals and an assist in the regular-season game at Boston University… Moved to attack against Colgate and finished the year with 16 goals and six assists over the last five games… Had four goals and an assist against the Raiders… Scored four times at Lehigh… Had four goals and an assist in the Patriot League Semifinal win at Boston University and then scored three with an assist in the title game against Army West Point… Named to the Patriot League All-Tournament Team.

2022 (Junior): Started all 16 games in the midfield for Loyola and was third on the team with 29 goals and 38 total points… After the season, had a spectacular summer in box and field lacrosse… Named MVP of the Ontario Junior ‘A’ Lacrosse League’s Mann Cup, leading the Whitby Warriors to the title… Then led Whitby to the Canadian Junior title and the Minto Cup, winning MVP honors in that tournament… Helped Canada win the silver medal at the U-21 World Championships in Limerick, Ireland… Scored twice and had an assist in the season-opener at Maryland… Had four goals against Rutgers, including two on extra-man… Scored twice and had an assist against Towson and posted two goals against Duke… Tallied three goals and an assist against Navy… Had two goals versus Boston University… Scored four times in the win at Colgate… Had two goals and an assist in both the Patriot League Championships games against Bucknell and Army West Point… Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

2021 (Sophomore): Finished his second year at Loyola with 11 goals and 11 assists out of the Greyhounds’ midfield after returning from an off-season injury… Scored eight of his goals and had eight of his assists over the last seven games of the year… Had a pair of assists at Navy and two weeks later posted a goal and an assist versus the Midshipmen at home… Assisted on two goals versus Navy in the Patriot League Quarterfinals, and then he had a goal and two assists in the Greyhounds’ next two games, wins over Army West Point in the Patriot League Semifinals and at Denver in the NCAA First Round… Scored in the NCAA Quarterfinal against Duke… Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

2020 (Freshman): Named to the College Crosse Freshman All-America Second Team after starting all six games on the Greyhounds first midfield... Scored five goals and was tied for second on the team with seven assists... Also had 11 ground balls and two caused turnovers... Made his collegiate debut with a goal and two assists to go with three ground balls at Virginia... Scored twice and had an assist against Johns Hopkins... Had a caused turnover on the ride tha tled to the game-winning goal against Rutgers... Assisted on three goals against Lafayette... Scored twice against Duke... Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

Before Loyola: Graduated from The Hill Academy in Vaughan, Ontario, where he played as a sophomore, junior and senior after playing his freshman year at Donald A. Wilson Secondary School… Named Hill’s Offensive Most Valuable Player in 2018… Named MVP of the Jammer Classic Lacrosse Tournament in 2017… Helped Hill win the Geico National High School Championship in 2017.

Personal: Son of Tricia and Phil Poitras… Has two siblings, Matt and Abby… Graduated as Hill’s valedictorian in 2019… Named to The Hill Academy’s All-Academic Team for a 90 percent or higher average all three years at the school… Earned Hill’s 1845 Character Award in 2019 and the school’s Grade 10 PRIDE Award in 2017… Volunteer math tutor and volunteered for the Brooklyn Hattie Golf Classic, a fundraiser in 2017.
