BALTIMORE - Loyola's volleyball team dropped its home opener 3-1 to Bucknell Wednesday night in a hard-fought non-conference match before an energetic Reitz Arena crowd.
All four games were back-and-forth battles until Bucknell finally gave themsleves some breathing room late in game four to clinch the victory.
The Greyhounds took game one 30-28, but the Bison stormed back to nail down game two 30-26, game three 30-27, and game four 30-21.
Despite the loss, Greyhound sophomore Becky Corb posted a match-high 22 kills.
Loyola falls to 0-8 on the year, while Bucknell improves to 2-4.
The Greyhounds return to action this weekend when they head to Richmond, VA for the VCU Tournament.
