Volleyball Drops Three-Game Sweep At Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Despite a match-high 13 kills by senior outside hitter Becky Corb, the Greyhound volleyball team (7-18, 1-3) was handed its third straight conference loss with a three-game Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference sweep against Fairfield University (14-12, 5-1) at Alumni Hall on Saturday afternoon.

The Stags, who entered the match in a tie for second place in the conference, earned the victory by scores of 30-15, 30-15 and 30-28.

Corb was the lone Greyhound to record double-digit kills in the match while also adding four service aces and four digs. Senior libero Jamie Arndt added a team-high 10 digs for the Greyhounds while freshman setter Marcellee Williams had 20 assists.

Jazmin Pa'akaula led the Stags to the victory by recording a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs. Lindsey Lee added a match-high 13 digs while Lauren Laramore added 10 digs.

The Greyhounds return to action on Sunday afternoon when they travel to league-leading Iona for a 3:00 p.m. match.
