Durham, N.C. - Jackie Truncellito took seventh in the 10,000-meter run while Andrea Rovegno grabbed 23rd in the 1,500 to lead Loyola's women's track and field team to a stellar performance at the Duke/Asics Invitational held at Wallace Wade Stadium this past weekend.

Truncellito turned in a 10K time of 38:03.64 as Rovegno ran a 1,500 time of 4:33.98. Rovegno's time was a personal best by seven seconds and qualified her for the ECAC Outdoor Championships. The ECAC bid for the sophomore marks the second time this year that she has earned an ECAC bid. Rovegno also qualified for the 1,600-meter run at the ECAC Indoor Meet.

Allison Riley and Shannon Gillespie also ran well in the 800-meter run and Heather Mizzer continued her improvement in the 110-meter hurdles.

"Andrea had an incredible performance," said Loyola Head Coach Julie Culley. "The Duke Invitational is a great way for our team to see some of the biggest powerhouse programs in the country. We had some exceptional performances -- an ECAC qualifier and several season-best times."

On a side note, Culley, a former cross country and track All-American at Rutgers, ran as an unattached runner in the 5,000-meter run and won the race with her time of 16:40.

Over 2,000 competitiors representing 78 colleges and universities from around the country participated in the meet.
