Rovegno Leads Track And Field At Patriot Games

FAIRFAX, Va. - Junior Andrea Rovegno finished second in the mile run with a time of 5:05.11 to lead the Greyhound women's track and field team at the Patriot Games on the campus of George Mason University on Saturday afternoon.

Competing in her first meet as a member of the team, Caroline Scott finished in 10th place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:30.35, while freshman Maureen Wynne earned 12th place in the mile, winning the second heat with a time of 5:27.86.

Freshman Melanie Mitchell recorded a height of 15 feet, 2 inches in her first long jump attempt of the season.

"We had several commendable performances Saturday with some of our girls breaking personal records and running and competing at higher levels than past weeks," Loyola Coach Julie Culley said. "The energy level on the team is incredibly high and we're excited for more personal records and school records to fall."
