Washington, D.C. - The Loyola women's volleyball team defeated Coppin State and fell to Fairleigh Dickinson at George Washington's Tournament in Washington, D.C. on Saturday afternoon and evening. The win, a 3-0 sweep, marks the Greyhounds first victory of the season.
In the win, Blair Snyder registered a team-high 12 kills while Chrissy Cruz registered a game-high 32 assists. Karlee Woodward added 11 kills as the Greyhounds won 30-26, 30-26, 30-26.
Loyola's loss to Fairleigh Dickinson was also a 3-0 score in which FDU won 30-19, 30-19, 30-24. Rachel Schillinger had 15 kills for the Greyhounds while Snyder added 10. Kim Burton posted a pair of service aces for Loyola while Clena Schmidt led the Knights with a game-high 16 kills.
The Greyhounds are now 1-5 overall and play host George Washington on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
