Women's Track Races At Maryland Invitational

College Park, Md. - Loyola's distance runners set the pace at the Maryland Invitational on Saturday afternoon with senior Andrea Rovegno leading the way. Rovegno earned Loyola's top finish at the meet, placing fourth in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:44.41.

The Greyhounds ran well in the distance events with Maureen Wynne also placing high in the 1500m. Wynne finished with a time of 4:56.80. Sarah Spencer placed 11th in the 5000-meters with a time of 19.28.86, while Michelle McVann posted a time of 2:29.20 in the 800m.

Freshman Ashley Kennedy earned a pair of Top-25 finishes in the hurdle events, placing 16th in the 100-meter hurdles (15.75) and 23rd in the 400-meter hurdles (1:09.15).

In the field events, senior Carolyn Kennington took seventh in the javelin with a distance of 116-03, while Kim Amaducci took 10th in the high jump by clearing 4-11.75.

The Greyhounds return to action this Friday when they travel to Durham to compete in the Duke Invitational.
