Women's Track And Field Races At Morgan Legacy

Baltimore, Md. - Sophomore Melanie Mitchell competed in her first-ever heptathlon this weekend, taking fourth place at the Morgan State Legacy Meet in Baltimore, Md. Mitchell, who also placed fourth in the javelin competition, racked up 3,293 points for the Greyhounds in her heptathlon debut.

In the field events, freshman Kim Amaducci cleared a school-record 5-1 in the high jump while freshman Paige Thomas represented Loyola well in the sprints. Thomas placed 17th in the finals of both the 200- and 400-meter races, setting school records in both events with a time of 26.17 in the 200m and 59.58 in the 400m. Freshman Eve Mizerak posted an impressive 26.78 in the 200m, while freshman Lisa Edwards ran a 13.17 in the 100m to round a great day in the sprints.

Senior Sarah Spencer placed 10th in the 1,500-meter race with a time of 5:11.21, while freshman Hilary Peluso led three Greyhound finishers in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 22:44.71.

The Greyhounds now prepare for the Penn Relays and Lions Invitational this weekend in the Greater Philadelphia Area.
