Women's Track Races At Duke

Durham, N.C. - The Loyola women's track team competed at the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C. on Friday. The Greyhounds, who ran a young squad, were led by solid performances from its freshmen class and veteran distance runners.

Some of Loyola's top performers came in the 400-meter hurdles with Amanda Reid earning an 18th-place finish in the finals. Reid ran a time of 1:11.15, while teammate Nicole Gilhuley placed 20th with a time of 1:12.49.

In the 5,000-meters, Maureen Wynne placed 39th overall with the school's second-fasted time in the event. Wynne posted a 17:53.90 as Sarah Spencer crossed the line in 18:59.96 - which was also a personal best. The Greyhounds also got a solid performance from Michelle McVann in the middle-distance 1,500m. McVann finished the race with a time of 5:02.64.

Freshman Lisa Edwards placed 30th in the 200-meter race with a time of 27.35. Placing right behind her in 27.69 was teammate Ashley Kennedy. Freshman Eve Mizerak took 37th in the 400-meter race in 1:04.10.

The Greyhounds return to the track next Friday at the Bucknell Invitational in Lewisburg, Pa.
