Lewisburg, Pa. - Senior Andrea Rovegno won the 3,000-meter race at Bucknell on Saturday afternoon to lead a stellar Loyola effort in Lewisburg. The Greyhounds set a number of personal bests and registered some impressive finishes in the non-scoring meet.

Rovegno won the 3,000 with time of 10:00.52 - her best time in the event this season. Freshman teammate Kate Cervo also garnered a Top-10 spot in the race, placing eighth overall in a time of 10:59.42. Cervo's time has been lowered by an impressive 18 seconds this indoor season.

Also in the distance events, senior Bethany Gentry posted a personal best time of 5:36.61 in the Mile Run. Her personal best by nine seconds was matched by sophomore Kristen Ford, who had a nine-second personal best in the 800m. Ford ran a time of 2:39 in the race.

In the sprints, junior Brittany McDonald advanced to the finals, where she ran a personal best 7.81 in the 55-meter dash. McDonald then posted a time of 28.56 in the 200m, ahead of freshman Angeline Diamond, who crossed the finish line in 28.72.

"I'm pretty happy with the way the day went," said Head Coach Brett Harvey. "We took a big step forward today and seem to be peaking at the right time with the MAAC Championships only two weeks away."

The Loyola men also ran a number of unattached athletes at the meet, including Chris Heibell, who placed second in the 3,000 with a time of 8:37. He was followed by fellow Greyhounds Gian Caccia, who placed fourth in 8:43. Brian Parker gave Loyola three Top-10 finishers in the event with his eight-place showing in 8:51.

The men also ran well in the Mile with Dan McDevitt's 11th-place finish and personal best (4:27.88). Tim Burns took 15th with a personal best time of 4:32.02.

The Greyhounds return to action next Friday at the Lafayette/Rider Invitational in New York, N.Y.
