• Loyola finished the regular-season 10-5-4, and 4-3-3 in the non-conference schedule.
• The 3rd seed Greyhounds are 6-2-1 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.
• Loyola defeated the number two seed Fairfield Stags 1-0, in the 2012 MAAC Semifinals.
The Greyhounds in the MAAC Championships
• The Loyola University Maryland women's soccer team will make their 18th appearance in the title game, as they take on the number one seed Marist Red Foxes.
• The Greyhounds have won nine title games, the most of any team in the conference.
• Senior Kelsey Rene scored the game-winning goal agains the Fairfield Stags in the first round of the 2012 MAAC tournament.
• The defender also notched her first career game-winning goal, scoring twice in the first half against Niagara in 2011.
• The Greyhounds are 9-5-3 in MAAC title games.
• Loyola beat the Red Foxes in 2007 with a 2-0 victory, but fell to the team in 2011 by a 1-0 shuthout.
• The Greyhounds have never won a shootout in a ititle game, going 0-4 with the Red Foxes.
Scouting the Red Foxes
• Marist shutout the Iona Gaels, 2-0 in the 2012 MAAC semifinal game Friday, Nov. 2.
• The team makes their fourth appearance in the tournament, and second straight title appearance.
• The Red Foxes have won only one MAAC title, after loosing to the Greyhounds 1-0 in 2011.
• Marist tabbed three players on the All-MAAC first team, including former 2011 Rookie of the Year, Amanda Epstein.
• The number one seed, Red Foxes, finished the regular season 14-6 overall, and 8-1 in the MAAC.
Series with Marist
• Loyola leads the series 12-5-4, playing in 21 games against the Red Foxes.
• The Greyhounds held Marsit to only one goal, a penalty kick, in the regular season.
• The loss to the Red Foxes marks the second consecutive game the Greyhounds have fallen to the team in a one goal shutout.
• This Sunday's game is a repeat title match up between Loyola and Marist. In 2011, the Red Foxes beat the Greyhounds 1-0 in Baltimore, Md.
MAAC Post Season Honors
• Senior Nichole Schiro won MAAC Offensive Player of the Year for the third year in a row, the first in MAAC history to win the same award three consecutive years.
• Goalkeeper Didi Haracic won the MAAC's first-ever Goalkeeper of the Year award, recording 96 saves this season.
• The No. 3 seed Greyhounds had four players on the All-MAAC first team. Schiro and Haracic join seniors Gigi Mangione and Kelsey Rene.
• Tessa McClenahan earned All-MAAC second team honors, while freshman Rosy Hayes notched a spot on the All-MAAC Rookie team.
What's Next
• The winner of the MAAC finals will receive a bid to the NCAA Div. I Women's Soccer Championships.
