Bethlehem -- The Patriot League announced their weekly women's soccer awards on Monday afternoon, as Loyola University Maryland's
Riley Kennel and
Hannah Goetzer were named Players of the Week.
This is each of their second weekly awards of the season, as Kennel was named Defensive Player of the Week following the opening weekend, while Goetzer was named Goalkeeper of the Week last week.
Kennel and Goetzer played key roles on the week, as Loyola went 1-0-1 to remain unbeaten in Patriot League play. Kennel scored the game-winning goal on Wednesday in their 2-0 win over American, while also playing a key role on the back line over both contests, playing a full 90 minutes in both games. Kennel also played a key role in the 0-0 draw against Bucknell, helping limit the Bison to just nine shots and only four shots on goal.
Goetzer recorded 12 saves on the week, while picking up two more shutouts on the season, to raise her number of shutouts to five on the season. She had eight saves against American, before tallying four saves against Bucknell to blank the Bison. Goetzer leads the Patriot League in GAA (.375), save percentage (.925), and shutouts (5) this season.
The Greyhounds continue Patriot League play on Friday when they travel to face Lehigh at 6:00 PM.
