Ndjock Earns Second MAAC Rookie Of The Week Honor

Sept. 24, 2012

EDISON, N.J. - Loyola University Maryland freshman Larry Ndjock has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, as announced today by the league office.

Ndjock had a personal-best performance for the Greyhounds in their 4-2 win over James Madison - a team that owns a 1-0 victory over top-ranked and defending national champion North Carolina. The Berlin, Germany native assisted classmate Dominic Marshall in the sixth minute of the game to put the Greyhounds ahead. He then assisted junior Stephen Dooley's game-winning goal in the 79th minute before tacking on an insurance goal within the next 45 seconds.

The two assists mark the first collegiate assists for Ndjock, while the goal is his team-leading fifth of the year. Ndjock also leads the team with 12 points and two game-winning goals.

This weekly awards marks the second time this season Ndjock has been tabbed the league's top rookie as he also earned the honor on Sept. 4.

Loyola will conclude its non-conference schedule this week as it hosts American on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Greyhounds will also face Saint Joseph's on Saturday at 1 p.m.
