Women's Track Finishes 2013 Indoor Regular Season

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Loyola University Maryland women's track and field team finished the regular indoor season with a third-place finish at the Navy Multi-Madness Meet at Wesley Brown Field House in Annapolis, Md.

The Greyhounds finished ahead of Towson University and McDaniel, with 28 points. The host Navy Midshipmen took the top spot, while John's Hopkins finished in second after nine events.

Kiera Harrison was the top Loyola finisher, running the mile in 5:07.28, and earning eight points toward the team total. Anna Bosse was a top-10 finisher in the same event, recording a time of 5:21.91. Emily Rooney (5:27.63), Erica Canas (5:29.38), and Mary DeGregorio (5:31.19) finished 11-13, respectively.

Senior Jackie D'Antonio added to the Greyhound cause, contributing five points after a fourth place finish in the 400m dash. D'Antonio finished with a time of 1:00.72, while Rebekah Rogerson crossed almost one-second later, 1:01.80. Marissa Buccellato and Megan Trainer finished just outside the top-10 at 1:01.94 and 1:02.20. Jacqueline Porter (1:02.27), Brianna Nelson (1:02.77), and Margaret Larkin (1:05.32) also competed in the 400.

The sprint medley team of Trainer, Buccellato, Nelson, and Kellyanne Bondulich finished in third place, with a time of 4:27.28.

Courtney Willeford was the only Greyhound to compete in the Pentathlon, where she recorded a career-best 4.47m in the long jump. The junior finished 13th overall in the multi-event.

Senior Noreen Petrash and Maria Hacker represented Loyola in the pole vault, finishing in seventh and ninth, respectively, with heights of 2.75 and 2.6 meters. Petrash added two points to the team total of 27.

For the second week in a row, and third time this year, freshman Uchechukwu Emili broke the school record in the weight throw recording a distance of 11.91m.

The Greyhounds will travel to the Armory in New York City Friday, February 15 for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships. For the first time in conference history, the women's indoor track championships will be broadcast on MAAC.TV.
