WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Loyola University Maryland women's track and field team completed the first day of competition at the Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championships Friday afternoon.

A quartet of seniors including Kellyanne Bondulich, Anna Bosse, Charlotte Criqui and Kelly Maguire combined for eighth (9:32.57) in the 4x800m relay, contributing the lone team point for the afternoon.

With a personal-best time of 12.75 in the 100m dash, junior Eileen Pastyrnak narrowly missed qualifying for the semifinals by only two-hundredths of a second. Sophomore Claire Scavone also set a PR in the same event with a time of 13.15.

Despite not placing in the preliminary round of the 100m hurdles, both freshman Lauren Waldeck and senior Kelly Hilbert recorded a personal-best time of 15.80 and 17.29, respectively.

Sophomores Jessa Laspesa and Claire Scavone, along with freshman Emma Dunleavy and senior Jenna Smith, all set a PR in the 200m dash, although not making it into the semifinal race of the championships. Laspesa recorded a time of 26.12 and Scavone a time of 26.32, while Dunleavy and Smith crossed the finish line in 26.57 and 27.58, respectively.

Off the track, freshman Sarah Bronk set a program-record in the pole vault for the third-straight meet. The rookie finished 14th with a mark of 3.2m/10' 6".

After the first day of competition, Loyola sits ninth with one team point. Host Army West Point leads the pack with 49.5 points, while Bucknell University (46 points) and College of the Holy Cross (36.5) are second and third, respectively.

The Greyhounds will return to action on Saturday for the final day of competition. The first event on the track, the 3000m steeplechase, will begin at 11 a.m., with Loyola's first race being the 4x100m relay at 12:15 p.m.
