Distance Runners Compete In First Day Of Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Loyola University Maryland track team opened competition at the Colonial Relays Thursday night, running in the 3,000m at the College of William & Mary's Zable Stadium.

Junior Sarah Askine led the Greyhounds, taking 20th in 10:32.09. Senior Erica Canas came in close behind Askine and finished 23rd in 10:38.54, while freshmen Christina Daniels and Mary Sutton took 34th (10:46.79) and 39th (10:51.94), respectively.

On the men's side, junior Tom Porth took 13th in 8:56.68, while freshman Edward Leonard came across the finish line in 9:14.20 for 21st overall.

Loyola returns to action Friday with a full day of action at the Colonial Relays.
