Track Competes At Day Two Of Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Loyola University Maryland track team competed at day two of the Colonial Relays hosted by College of William & Mary.

Sophomore Daniella Joyce opened the day's events setting a personal record in the 100m preliminaries with a time of 13.46. Later in the morning, classmate Emma Dunleavy also set a PR, this time in the 400m dash. Dunleavy crossed the finish line in 1:00.08.

Freshman MaryEllen Woods ran a season-best time of 2:20.92 in the 800m, while senior Sara Gilson made her debut in the 3,000m steeplechase, taking 34th in 12:07.90.

Later in the evening, junior Sarah Askine took fifth in the 1,500m, with a personal-best time of 4:44.11, while sophomore Alex Saffadi and junior Brad Beard also ran attached in the men's 1,500m. Saffadi finished 58th in 4:10.07 and Beard came in 69th with a time of 4:15.84.

The Greyhounds return to action Saturday to complete competition at the Colonial Relays. Weather permitting, events will be streamed live on the Tribe's website.
