  • Jarred Jones and Andre Walker have combined for 30 of the Greyhounds' 52 games with 10 or more points this season. Jones has posted 10 or more 16 times, Walker 14. The duo of Jones and Walker lead Loyola with 14.9 and 14.6 points per game this season.
  • Cam Gregory has averaged 12.1 points in Loyola first 10 Patriot League games, raising his season-long average to 8.3 points. He is shooting 70.4 percent from the field in those games, tops in the League in conference games.
  • Loyola has attempted more free throws (487) than all but one other Patriot League Team (Bucknell, 511), despite being tied for the fewest number of games played (21).
  • Loyola is second in the Patriot League in offensive rebounds per game with 11.7. Cam Gregory leads the way by averaging 2.7 offensive boards per game.
  • The Greyhounds also top the League in 3-point field goal defense, holding opponents to 31.8 percent. That mark is 57th nationally, a vast departure from last year when Loyola ranked 307th.

Tune In To Twitter

Series History Versus Lehigh
  • Lehigh and Loyola will meet for the 17th time on the basketball court and eighth time as Patriot League opponents Thursday when the teams take the floor.
  • Loyola squeezed out an 84-83 victory when the teams met in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on Jan. 5. Andre Walker made a 3-pointer with eight-tenths of a second remaining to give the Greyhounds their only lead of the game. The Mountain Hawks took the lead 45 seconds into the game, and they were ahead until Walker and hit a double-clutch, step-back 22-foot three to lift Loyola to the win.
  • Walker finished with 23 points and four steals, while Jarred Jones had 24 points, six rebounds and three steals for Loyola.
  • Lehigh shot 57.1 percent from the field and led by as many as 18, 60-42, with 13:52 left in regulation after a Brandon Alston three. The Greyhounds trailed by nine after a pair of Austin Price foul shots with 2:33 left in regulation, but Jones and Kostecka scored in the paint to pull Loyola within five, 82-77, with 64 seconds remaining.
  • The Greyhounds trailed by nine after a pair of Price foul shots with 2:33 left in regulation, but Jones and Kostecka scored in the paint to pull Loyola within five, 82-77, with 64 seconds remaining. Walker came away with a steal on Lehigh's inbound play, and he was fouled with a minute left. He knocked down both from the charity stripe, and Jordan Cohen misfired on a three for Lehigh with 34 ticks left. Five seconds later, Walker was again fouled and made two from the line, narrowing the gap to just one, 82-81. Loyola fouled Price with 18 seconds left, and he made the front end of two as Jarred Jones grabbed the defensive rebound after the miss on the back side.
  • The Greyhounds called a timeout with just over 12 seconds left, setting up the final sequence. Walker passed to Jones who jabbed stepped toward the paint and threw a pass to Walker on the right wing. The junior guard dribbled back to the top of the perimeter, shot-faked and let a defender fly by before making the three for the win. After a timeout, Lehigh could not get a shot off before the final buzzer.
  • For the third time in as many years as Loyola has been in the Patriot League, the teams split the season series during the 2015-2016 season, each winning on its home court.
  • Loyola squeezed out a 51-50 victory in January, but the Mountain Hawks came back with a 71-66 win at Stabler Arena on Feb. 3. Lehigh's victory gave it a narrow 8-7 margin in the all-time series.
  • In 2014-2015, both teams won on the other's home court, while they each held serve at home in 2013-2014.

Last Time Out
  • Cam Gregory recorded career-highs of 21 points and 14 rebounds Saturday afternoon, leading Loyola to a wire-to-wire 70-62 victory at Lafayette.
  • Jarred Jones tallied 13 points in the first half, and 18 in the game, for Loyola. His second basket of the game, a mid-range jumper from the right elbow made him the 36th player in program history to record 1,000 points in a career.
  • The Greyhounds raced out to a 26-6 lead in the game's first 10 minutes, holding Lafayette without a field goal for a stretch of 6-minutes, 10 seconds in the process. Loyola would eventually extend its advantage to as many as 28, going up 37-9 with 6:30 to go in the first half on a Gregory layup, but the Leopards would make a hard charge to end the period.
  • Lafayette chipped away at the advantage, holding Loyola to just one rebound for the remainder of the half. An Auston Evans' layup in transition with less than five seconds to play before the break brought the Leopards within 11, 41-30. Kyle Stout drained a three for Lafayette 2:38 into the second, and Loyola's lead was trimmed to eight, 43-35. The Leopards' Hunter Janacek, however, was assessed a technical foul just over a minute later, and Andre Walker made one of two foul shots for Loyola. Gregory then had a fade-away jumper fall with the shot clock expiring and 14:33 on the clock to push the Greyhounds' lead to 46-35.
  • Lafayette, however, scored 12 of the next 14 points, and Matt Klinewski's basket in the paint at 10:01 cut the Leopards' deficit to a single point, 48-47. Jones responded with his first points of the second half, converting in the paint and drawing a foul 23 ticks of the clock later. He made it a 3-point play with the free throw to give the Greyhounds needed breathing room. Both teams came up empty on their next possessions, but Gregory grabbed an offensive board on Loyola's next trip and scored.
  • He tallied another basket underneath coming out of a media timeout, and then Walker drained a three after a Jones steal, putting Loyola up 58-47 with 10 unanswered points.

Doubling Up In Efficient Fashion
  • Cam Gregory posted the best statistical game of his career on Saturday at Lafayette, logging career-highs of 21 points and 14 rebounds. The numbers eclipsed his previous highs of 18 points (2015 against Boston University) and 13 boards (2016 at American).
  • Gregory scored his 21 by making nine of the 11 shots he attempted. His 81.8 percent mark from the field is the third-best in school history for individuals attempting 10 or more shots in a game.

Rare Company
  • Jarred Jones scored his 1,000th career point in the first half at Lafayette on Jan. 28, becoming the 36th player in school history to cross the plateau.
  • That in itself put him in rarefied air, but he is also just the second player to record 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 100 steals, 100 assists and 100 blocked shots in a career. Erik Etherly (2010-13) had 1,245, 699, 121 and 121.
  • Jones is one of just five active players in NCAA Division I (per Sports-Reference.com) to hit those numbers. The group includes Tim Coleman (NJIT), Jerome Frink (Fla. Int'l 2012-14; LIU Brooklyn 2015-17),  Jones, Reggie Upshaw (Middle Tennessee) and Tim Williams (Samford 2012-14; New Mexico 2015-17).

Five-For-Five Freshman
  • Andrew Kostecka had the best statistical game of his young career Wednesday night, scoring a season-best 20 points on 5-of-5 from the floor against Holy Cross. His point total eclipsed the 15 he scored Jan. 5 at Lehigh. Kostecka made all four of his 3-point attempts and also hit 6-of-8 free throws. He added three assists and three steals in 31 minutes of action.
  • He is now shooting 50.5 percent from the field, and 40.4 from 3-point range, this season.
  • Andre Walker was the last Loyola player to score 20 or more as a freshman. Walker did so with 21 points in a triple-overtime win against Colgate on Feb. 22, 2015.

Distribution Point
  • Matt Staubi came off the bench against Holy Cross and led all players with five assists in just 15 minutes, and he had three in 13 at Lafayette to go with five points. He has seen action in six Patriot League games this year, averaging 11.8 minutes per, and is averaging 2.7 in those games.

Walker's Outstanding Outing
  • Andre Walker entered Loyola's Jan. 18 nationally televised game against Boston University needing to score 29 to hit 1,000 for his career. By halftime, he was only nine points away from the plateau.
  • Walker finished with a career-high 35 points, the most by a Loyola player since Jamal Barney tallied 40 on Jan. 14, 2009, against NJIT.
  • He did so by going 9-of-12 from 3-point range, tying the school record for most made 3-pointers in a game. Walker matched the mark of Andre Collins who knocked down nine on Jan. 8, 2006, against Marist College.
  • Walker's ninth three of the game came with 12:55 to play in regulation, a basket that gave him an even 1,000 points for his career. By reaching the milestone, Walker became the 35th player in school history with 1,000 or more points.

Cam Contributing Big In League Play
  • Cam Gregory has seen the biggest jump on the team of points per game in the Patriot League (12.1) versus overall (8.3). He has scored 121 of his 175 points (69.1 percent) in the last 10 games.
  • After posting a career-high 21 points at Lafayette, Gregory has made 50 of 71 shots, good for 70.4 percent from the field; that mark leads the conference in League games. He also is Loyola's top rebounder in conference games with 78, 7.8 per game.

On The Boards
  • Loyola has outrebounded its opponents in seven of 10 Patriot League games so far this season and are averaging almost three boards more per game (31.5-28.9). Overall this year, Loyola is slightly ahead of its foes on the boards, averaging 33.6 to 33.0.

Clutch Late
  • Andre Walker's game-winning three at Lehigh was his second game-winning basket of the season and third time he has been involved in a play that sealed a victory this year. Walker hit a winning layup with five-tenths of a second remaining at Stony Brook, giving the Greyhounds a 71-70 road win.
  • He then came up defensively at American, keeping the Eagles' Sa'eed Nelson from driving and blocking his 3-pointer at the buzzer for a two-point win.
  • Walker scored 16 of his 19 points in the final nine minutes of regulation and all of overtime at Binghamton, helping aid the comeback victory.
  • He is also 36-of-44 from the free-throw line in the final five minutes of games through 21 games this year.
  • Walker now has scored game-winning points in the last 10 seconds of games five times during his career. Last year, he scored on a drive to the basket with less than five seconds left at home against Lehigh, and he hit two free throws with just over three ticks on the clock for a win at the U.S. Military Academy. As a freshman in 2013-2014, he made two free throws with 6.9 seconds left to beat Colgate University in triple overtime.

Jones Flourishing
  • Jarred Jones has been leading, or among the leaders for, the Greyhounds in scoring and rebounding from the outset this season, and after 21 games his averages stand at 14.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Those marks both are fifth and ninth in the Patriot League.
  • He has led the team, or tied for team-high honors, in scoring 11 times this year, something he has done in 10 of the last 17 games.  The fifth-year senior – Jones received a medical hardship waiver for the 2014-2015 season – also leads the blocked shots (22), is tops in steals (32) and is second in assists (39).
  • Recently, he broke into Loyola's rebounding career top-20 and is 17th with 539. He logged his 100th career steal against Mount St. Mary's, and he is now tied for 10th all-time with 121. Jones is also fifth on the career blocked shots list with 109.

The Family Business
  • Jarred Jones and his younger sister, Brionna, are both standouts for their NCAA Division I teams. Brionna leads the third-ranked University of Maryland with averages of 19.4 and 10.1 (through game on 1/29). Younger sister Stephanie is a freshman for the Terps, as well, averaging 4.4 points per game.

Defensive Improvements
  • An offseason key for the Greyhounds was to sure up their half-court defense, and through 1 games, statistics show an improvement in that area.
  • Last year, Loyola was 261st in NCAA Division I in scoring defense (75.3 points allowed per game), and it was even worse in opponent 3-point field-goal percentage (307th, .372).
  • This year, opponents are shooting just .318 (118-of-371) from 3-point range and averaging 69.4 points per game. Those numbers rank 57th and 110th in NCAA Division I through games of Jan. 29.
  • In another defensive metric, the Greyhounds are 77th nationally with 7.2 steals per game.

Getting To The Line
  • Loyola leads the Patriot League in free throws made per game (16.2) and attempts per game (23.2).
  • Despite being tied for the fewest games played (21), the Greyhounds have attempted just 24 fewer free throws than the League-leader in attempts, Bucknell University (511, 23 games).
  • Opponents, in fact, are averaging more than four fewer attempts from the line this season (389 total, 18.5 per game).
  • Andre Walker leads the League in free-throw percentage, having made 73 of his 85 attempts, good for 85.9 percent.
