BALTIMORE –
Naomi Meiburger announced she is stepping down today as head women's soccer coach at Loyola University Maryland. Meiburger recently completed her fifth year with the Greyhounds.
"I would like to thank Coach Meiburger for her efforts during the past 5 years as the leader of our women's soccer program," said
Donna M. Woodruff, Loyola's assistant vice president and director of athletics. "Naomi always demonstrated a commitment to the values of our institution, the Loyola soccer program and our student-athletes, and I wish her and her family nothing but the best moving forward."
Meiburger joined the Loyola staff as the program's fifth head coach in February 2014. She compiled an overall record of 27-48-12, 10-25-10 in the Patriot League, over the last five seasons with their last trip to the Patriot League Tournament in 2015.
"I would like to thank Loyola and our student-athletes for the opportunities given to me and my family over the last five years," Meiburger said. "We unfortunately did not reach the success we set out for on the field, but I am immensely proud of our players and the women they are in the community, classroom and competitive arena. I wish them all the best going forward."
Loyola will begin a national search immediately.
