BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland volleyball players
Ann Ernst and
Mackenzie Fedota will join an All-Star team of fellow Patriot League players on a tour of Europe this month.
Ernst, a junior outside hitter, and Fedota, a sophomore middle blocker, will play with other student-athletes from around the conference in matches and training in England, Italy and Croatia.
The duo joined the group in London last week where they have toured, trained and played against teams from Northumbria University, the English National Team and another collegiate touring team of players from the Mountain West Conference.
This week, they traveled to Venice before heading to Pula, Croatia, where the Patriot League players will compete against other international competition before returning to the United States next week.
Ernst has led the Greyhounds in kills and kills per set during her first two years at Loyola. She posted 352 kills (3.35/set) as a sophomore in 2017 after tallying 326 (3.54) during her 2016 freshman campaign. She also has been amongst the team leaders in digs (187 in 2016, 266 in 2017) since coming to the Evergreen campus.
Fedota put together a solid freshman season in 2017, finishing third on the team in kills (162, 1.72) as a middle blocker. She was also third on the Greyhounds in total blocks (71, 0.76) and posted 17 service aces.
