BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland men's basketball will official open its sixth year of competition in the Patriot League, and the first under new Head Coach
Tavaras Hardy, on January 3, 2019 when Holy Cross visits Reitz Arena for the conference opener.
The Greyhounds will play an 18-game Patriot League schedule followed by the 10-team Patriot League Championships in early March. The schedule is subject to change; follow LoyolaGreyhounds.com for the most up-to-date version of the slate.

Last month, Loyola
announced a 13-game non-conference slate that will open November 6 at St. John's. Following the game in Queens, Loyola returns to Reitz Arena for a pair of games, starting with its 2018-19 home opener against Dartmouth on November 11. The Greyhounds then host Delaware State two days later.
The next three games will be part of the Legends Classic, as well, starting with a November 16 trip to take on Temple. That game will be the first between the Greyhounds and Owls since February 1930.
Loyola then heads to the Motor City for two games in the Legends Classic, facing host Detroit Mercy on November 19 before taking on either Bowling Green or Hampton the next day.
The Greyhounds will stay in the Baltimore area for Thanksgiving weekend and will make the short trip to play at Towson on November 25.
That contest precedes Loyola's final home non-conference game of the regular-season. Mount St. Mary's visits Reitz Arena on December 1 for the 174
th meeting between the Catholic foes. The game will be part of an Alumni Day doubleheader as the Loyola women also host the Mountaineers while bringing back former players and fans.
Loyola hits the road for the remainder of non-conference play, starting with a December 5 game at Drexel and then a December 8 date at Binghamton.
The Greyhounds trek down Interstate 95 to College Park to face Maryland on December 11. That contest will be the first between the programs since the Terrapins hosted the Greyhounds on February 2, 2003.
After pausing for fall-semester final exams, Loyola will travel to New England to face UMass-Lowell on December 21, and following the Christmas holiday, the Greyhounds head south for a December 28 game at North Carolina State.
After the Holy Cross game in Baltimore, Loyola will take a two-game swing through the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania where it will play Lehigh on January 6 and Lafayette three days later.
Up next is a pair of home games in Reitz Arena. The Greyhounds first host Army West Point on January 12 before taking on Boston University January 16. Two road games follow with contests at Holy Cross (January 19) and Bucknell (January 23).
Loyola returns to Reitz Arena on January 26 to face Colgate before squaring off against American on January 30.
A quick trip to Annapolis, Maryland, comes on February 2 for the Greyhounds to play at Navy before returning home to play Bucknell on February 6. The Greyhounds head on the road for their next two contests, February 9 at Colgate and February 13 at nearby American.
Two home games dot the schedule the following week as Lafayette comes to Reitz Arena on February 17 before Loyola hosts Navy February 20.
The final road swing of the regular-season will take the Greyhounds to Boston Unviersity on February 24 with a date at Army West Point on February 27.
Loyola closes its home regular-season slate on March 2 when it hosts Lehigh in the regular-season finale.
The Patriot League Championships start on March 5 with the first round of competition. Teams seeded seventh through 10
th in the Championships will play in that round. Winners will advance to the quarterfinals – where the one through six seeds will have received a bye – that will be played on March 7.
Semifinal action will see the final four teams play on March 10 with the league title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships on the line March 13. The higher seeded team will host the matchups throughout the Championships.
