  • After starting the season with three games on the road, the Saint Francis game on August 26 marked the first of four in a row, six out of seven and eight of 10, at Ridley Athletic Complex.
  • Naomi Meiburger is in her fifth season as the head coach at Loyola. She is joined on the sidelines by third-year assistants Kevin Dempsey and Morgan Ruhl and volunteer assistant coach Lacey Phillips.
  • The Greyhounds' 2018 women's soccer roster includes 19 returners with previous experience at Loyola, a transfer and eight freshmen.

Looking Back

  • Hannah Hoefs ripped a shot inside the left post in the 71st minute to give Loyola all the scoring it would need in a 1-0 Patriot League win over the U.S. Military Academy on Saturday.
  • Sumer Rahe made three saves in goal and had her third clean sheet of the year.
  • The Greyhounds earned the corner kick after Rahe came far out of the box and launched a long clearance down the right side of the field. Kate Reese made a run onto the ball and forced an Army West Point defender to knock it over the endline for a Greyhounds' corner.
  • Nicole Rivas hit a hard corner to the middle of the box, and Reese headed it backwards. Hoefs stepped into the shot from 10 yards out on the left side and angled it inside the near post past Army goalkeeper Sydney Cassalia's dive.

Series History

  • Loyola and Delaware State will play for the third time in series history when the teams play on Monday night. It will be the second meeting in as many years after Loyola earned a 2-0 victory on October 9, 2017, in Frederica, Delaware.
  • Julianna Cabrera and Taylor DiMarco scored goals for the Greyhounds in the 2017 match at the DE Turf Sports Complex.
  • Cabrera headed home a Hannah Hoefs free kick in the 42nd minute to give the Greyhounds a 1-0 advantage going into halftime.
  • DiMarco then scored the first goal of her collegiate career in the 67th minute, collecting a rebound after an Alice Regan cross deflected off the Hornets' goalkeeper to score. DiMarco got to the loose ball and shot from 15 yards to beat Delaware State goalkeeper Jenna Wallace to her left.
  • Sumer Rahe had her second clean sheet in as many games for the Greyhounds.
  • In the first meeting between the programs, Loyola set a school record for goals in a match, posting a 13-0 win on September 28, 2002.

About The Hornets

Scoring On A Tough D

Three For Hannah

  • She is tied for eighth in the Patriot League in goals and 10th in goals per game.

Freshmen Breaking Through

  • Sarah Bayer has been a key part of the Greyhounds' offense all season, but she broke through into the scoring column with three in the span of two games.. Her assist on a Jourdan Ziff goal in the second half against Towson was her first collegiate point.
  • She then tallied her first goal with a terrific run past two Mount St. Mary's defenders to give the Greyhounds the eventual game-winner on Sunday.
  • Kaleigh Gallagher got into the scoring column for the first time in the Navy game, talying the first of her career in the second half off a Hannah Hoefs corner kick.

Coaches Corner
