BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland women's soccer is at Ridley Athletic Complex for the final time in the regular season on Saturday, looking to clinch a Patriot League tournament appearance with a Homecoming weekend matchup against Colgate.

The Greyhounds, who enter the weekend ranked second in the Patriot League standings, would secure their first playoff appearance since 2015 with a victory. They have reached the conference tournament two times (2014-15) since joining the Patriot League in 2013.

Last Time Out

  • Paige Sim made six saves in goal, and Loyola used an all-around team effort to earn a 0-0 draw at Bucknell on Wednesday.
  • The Greyhounds have earned a result in six of their seven Patriot League games this season.
  • The teams combined for 29 shots overall, with 23 of those attempts occurring after the intermission.
  • Sim's six saves were one shy of her season high of seven, which was established in a 1-1 draw with Holy Cross on Sept. 28.
  • Hannah Hoefs had a team-high four shots in the contest.
  • Of the five Patriot League games contested on Wednesday, three finished as scoreless ties.

Series History

  • Colgate leads 5-1-1 in a series which began in 2013.
  • Both results for Loyola were earned in 2015. The Greyhounds advanced 4-3 on PK's after a scoreless draw in the opening round of the Patriot League tournament, and they topped the Raiders by a 3-2 final in the regular season.
  • Colgate came out on top by a 3-0 final in the teams' meeting at Ridley last season. Shots were even at 14-14; all three Raider goals were scored in a span of 7:21 early in the second half.

About the Raiders

  • Colgate (3-8-4, 1-3-3) has earned four points in its last two Patriot League contests, defeating Boston University by a 1-0 scoreline last weekend and posting a 0-0 draw with Lehigh on Wednesday.
  • The Raiders finished second in the Patriot League regular season standings last season, going 7-1-1 against conference opponents before falling to fifth-seeded Lehigh (2-1) in the conference semifinals.
  • Colgate has been shutout in seven of its 15 games this season, scoring a total of 11 goals on the year. Ruby Diodati (1 G, 3 A) and Leah Lewis (2 G, 1 A) lead the offense with five points apiece.
Senior Day
Stifling Defense
  • Loyola has allowed one goal or fewer in eight-straight games, with a record of 4-1-3 during that stretch.
  • The Greyhounds have surrendered just four goals in their first seven matchups against Patriot League opponents, recording clean sheets in three of those contests.
  • Freshman goalkeeper Paige Sim leads the Patriot League and ranks 27th nationally in save percentage (.854). She is also second in the conference and 26th nationally in goals-against average (.595).
  • In four Patriot League road games, Loyola is 1-1-2 with a 0.25 goals-against average. The lone goal allowed came in overtime at Army on Oct. 12.
  • Claire Beath, Julia Gray and Beth Eversman have each started all 15 games on the backline. Beath (1,399) and Gray (1,335) lead the team in minutes played.

  • The Greyhounds are 3-0-1 in their last four contests at Ridley Athletic Complex.
  • Sarah Bayer (4 G, 2 A) is tied for fourth in the conference in goals, and she is sixth among Patriot League performers in points per game (0.67).
  • The Greyhounds are 5-0 this season when scoring multiple goals, 3-0-1 when outshooting opponents and 4-1-1 when recording more corner kicks.
