Turner Foster was named the Patriot League Golfer of the Week on October 31.
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Loyola University Maryland freshman Turner Foster was named the Patriot League Men's Golfer of the Week on Thursday after leading the Greyhounds with a third-place finish at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate at Montclair Golf Club.

Foster matched his career-best round with an even-par 70 in the rain-shortened tournament's only round to take third out of 85 golfers. Conditions hampered scored during the day with the course playing nearly 8-over par through the 18 holes.

The Greyhounds finished second in the 16-team field, one shot out of first, with an 8-over par 288.

Foster completed his first fall at Loyola with a 74.70 scoring average through four tournaments and 10 rounds. His opening and closing rounds of the fall were his best as he shot 70 on September 16 at the VCU Invitational that was equal to his final round on Monday.

As a team, Loyola posted three-straight second-place finishes to close the fall, coming in as runner-up at the Hamptons, Georgetown and Metropolitan Intercollegiates. They also took 11th at the Old Town Club Intercollegiate in September against a field that included six teams ranked in the national top-50, five that were in the top-20.

The Golfer of the Week Award is the first for Foster. Since joining the Patriot League in 2013-14, Loyola golfers have earned 13 weekly or monthly awards.
