Ohlsson Named To Academic All-Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Team

Loyola Women's Indoor Track & Field's Senna Ohlsson was named to the 2019 Academic All-Patriot League Team.
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – A week after becoming the first Loyola University Maryland runner to win an individual title at the Patriot League Championships, Senna Ohlsson was one of 10 named to the Academic All-Patriot League Women's Indoor Track & Field Team for her excellence in the classroom.

Ohlsson made a third-lap charge to take over the least in the 800 meters last Sunday, holding off a challenge from the U.S. Military Academy's Haley Watson in the final 200. The Loyola sophomore finished in 2:11.25, an ECAC Championships qualifying time and the No. 4 indoor time in Greyhounds history, while Watson was just behind in 2:11.67.

In the classroom, Ohlsson has earned Loyola Dean's List honors all three semesters she has been at the school and finished the fall with a cumulative 3.706 grade-point average as a biology and English major.

She is the first Loyola runner to earn All-Patriot League First Team recognition after a stellar 2019 indoor campaign. Ohlsson ran three of the seven-fastest 800 times in school history, and she also now has run the top-six 500-meter times at Loyola.

Ohlsson also led the Loyola 4x800-meter relay team to its best-ever finish at the Patriot League Championships as the group raced to a second-place finish, setting a school record by almost 13 seconds in the process.

She is the third Loyola runner to earn Academic All-Patriot League honors, joining Sara Gilson (2015) and Christa Sidoti (2018).
