BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland men's and women's tennis took to the court Sunday under sunny, but cool conditions, and the Greyhounds registered a sweep of Chestnut Hill College, beating the Griffins, 7-0, on the women's side and 6-1 on the men's.

In women's action, the Greyhounds did not drop a set, winning all three doubles and six singles matches.

Kateri Martin and
Abigail Thornton played to a 6-2 win over Mia Covic and Daniela Siqueira at No. 1 doubles, while
Lin Robertson and
Alexandria Agee teamed to beat Barbara Broville and Gianna Vassalluzzo, 6-1, at No. 2.
Sandra Aguirre and
Brooke Santoriello shutout Nicole Yang and Mariana Sanchez, 6-0, at No. 3 to complete the doubles point.

Martin eased to a 6-0, 6-1 win over Covic at No. 1 singles, and
Abby Decker beat Broville, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2. Aguirre did not allow a point to Siqueira, winning 6-0, 6-0 in the third flight.

Agee was a 6-0, 6-1 winner over Yang at No. 4, and
Genevieve Wurtz beat Vassalluzzo, 7-6 (2), 6-4 at No. 5.
Julia Thompson then dispatched Sanchez, 6-1, 6-0 in the sixth.

In men's action, Chestnut Hill opened up with a 1-0 lead in the match, winning the doubles point by taking all three matches.

Tom Pitchley and Erik Jorsal teamed to beat Skylar Gates and Matthew Fitzmaurice, 6-2, at No. 1, and Antoine Gautier and Adam Galvin got by
Benny Glezer and
C.J. Cash, 6-2, at No. 2. Kai Adler and Jesus Darias were 6-0 winners at No. 3 over
Brian Hoffarth and Nathan Ferro.

Loyola, however, came back to win all six singles matches.

Hoffarth and Glezer were winners in straight-sets, beating Pitchley (6-3, 6-1) and Gautier (6-3, 6-1), respectively, at No. 1 and 3.

Gates used a third set to beat Darias, 4-6, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2, and Fitzmaurice rallied to beat Jorsal, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 at No. 4. Cash was a super-tiebreaker third-set winner over Adler, 1-6, 6-2, (10-4) at No. 5, and
Edik Pribitkin did the same against Galvin, 0-6, 6-3, (10-6) in the sixth.

Loyola's men and women return to the court for home action on Tuesday, March 19, to face Hofstra University at 3:30 p.m.
